Virtual reality has become very popular and its being said that 2016 may be the year of virtual reality after all! It is for teenagers and adults alike who love the magic of graphics, animations and most of all, to be able to interact and talk to others. For the past few years, virtual reality has literally been some demos and works in progress games. Now, we have the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive and finally some proper games to play! Here we have put together a list of our favorite virtual reality games and experiences so far.
Elite: Dangerous
Elite: Dangerous is developed by Frontier developments and it’s the first commercial game that has native VR support and shows off technology at its best. The graphics are detailed as it shows the cockpits of battleships and shows even the smallest figures of the fighters. It looks like the best Star Wars battle come to life. In this, you can move your head to look down at your body and it would be even better if you have a flight stick as the hands will mirror your own hands! The thrill of dogfighting as well as the stunning cosmic scenes makes Elite an impressive game. Flying into a planets ring system has never been more real as you see the asteroids and rocks flying and spinning beside you in your field of view and you will just want to stand and stare. Flying different ships has different experiences too as the ships are weighty and realistic. Elite: Dangerous is one of the most convincing virtual reality experiences.
Minecraft
Minecraft is developed by Mojang and is compatible with the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Once you get inside the world of playing Minecraft in a virtual world, you will begin to feel as though you are inside the game, as if it was something that has happened to you. It is an open and easy to read game and this game demonstrates that you do not need mind bending realistic graphics to make an amazing virtual reality experience.
Job Simulator
Job Simulator is developed by Owlchemy Labs and is compatible with HTC Vive. This game can be best described as one to showcase the world of virtual reality. It is a room scale virtual reality world which has simple tasks that you would want to show to your family and friends. It mostly gives you simple pleasures like interacting with your environment, and to see how many things you can stuff into an office cubicle and often comes with great slapstick jokes to reward you. This would be the best game for you to explain to VR curious people as to why the virtual reality world is so cool.
Zombie Shooter
Who wouldn’t want to shoot zombies? This game is not only fun but a little scary too. You only need to look at the weapon to choose it and to start the game you need to look at the door. Basically you need to find the zombies and shoot them before it finds you. It has beautiful impressive graphics. Make sure to aim at the head!
